Assorted Quickies

  1. Use Command 1-6 to quickly switch between modes. (Cmd-2 and Cmd-3 to go between Edit and Preview are particularly useful.)
  2. Hold down option before splitting a window to split it in the opposite direction of your default (i.e. vertical instead of horizontal, or vice-versa)
  3. To quickly replace a file in an existing split, just drag in a new one.
  4. Option-click a toolbar button to create a new tab in that mode.
  5. Command-click the new split button to create a new split with a new empty text file.
  6. Option-click the new file button under the file list to create a new folder (instead of a new file).
  7. You may also drag a file onto a tab to replace the file in the current "active" split. Handy when dragging a file in from the Finder.
  8. Cmd-Opt-. (period) will close the current HTML tag.
