| How do I connect to Unison Usenet? |
Simply set Unison to connect to news.panic.com. Your username begins with unison/, and can be found in the e-mail we sent you when you signed up.
| Why does it take so long to open big groups? |
When Unison first opens a large group, it must download all the headers for that group -- the headers contain information about every post. These aren't small! However, Unison caches these headers, so the next time you open the group, it should go much faster.

| How does previewing images work? |
Unison actually downloads the full image from your news server, and displays it as a thumbnail. Then, when you choose to Download a previewed image, it is copied directly from Unison's cache.
| Why are items sometimes not in the right groups? |
Unison uses a complex matching algorithm to try to decide which files are parts of a group based on the
file's subject line. Sometimes, Unison won't be able to guess properly, and items may not be
grouped properly.

| What are RAR and PAR and PAR2 files? |
Good question! RAR files are created by splitting a large file into many smaller files. This makes it quite a bit easier to download large files. They can be joined together back to the original file by using a utility like UnRarX.
PAR and PAR2 files are quite interesting -- they're used to reconstruct missing RAR parts. For example, if a large file is split into 50 RAR files, and files 23 and 27 are missing, if you download the PAR set, you'll be able to reconstruct parts 23 and 27 magically! Use a utility like MacPAR deLuxe to work with PAR and PAR2 files.

| How do I only see new files in Files view? |
As of Unison 1.5, it's now possible to mark Files, Music, and Images as "Read". Then, you can choose "Hide Read", and you'll only see the new items the next time you enter a group!
